Ryan’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation primarily in the defense of first-party property insurance companies, including coverage disputes, extra-contractual claims, as well as matters involving subrogation. Ryan counsels clients in several different areas of the law including, large loss first-party property coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, subrogation, contract negotiation, government contracts, matters involving government immunity, employment issues, and appeals. Ryan provides a youthful and assertive perspective in his approach to the claims handling process when advocating for his clients.
During his time in law school, Ryan was actively involved with the TJSL Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic, which provides legal assistance and representation to formerly homeless military veterans, and remains an issue Ryan is currently involved with and passionate about.

Subrogating MEGA Claims (2018): Focus on the interaction between the carrier, insured, subrogation attorneys and other parties in pursuing subrogation while balancing out-of-pocket costs and mitigation of damages.
The Use of Technology in Large Loss Investigations – Expert, Claims & Legal Perspectives on the Value of Tech (2018): Understanding how to evaluate and use technology in large loss claims and subrogation to maximize efficiency, obtain better results for clients, develop more persuasive interpretations of disputed facts and the effect of technology on claims and subrogation.
Deposition Guidelines for Insurance Adjusters (2017): Advise potential deponents regarding deposition preparation, how to avoid possible pitfalls and testify effectively.
Ethical Claims Handling (2017): Guidelines for handling claims, including notice of loss and claim, ethical investigation of claims and retention of consultants, communications with the insured, evaluation and denial of coverage, and conduct in litigation.

Ryan is actively involved with Volunteers of America and always seeking and pursuing new ways to become more active and involved in the local community.
Other Interests
Ryan has had a lifelong passion for aviation and is currently pursuing his pilot license. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time with his rescue dog, Espy.
